Actor Matthew McConaughey may be committed to longtime girlfriend Camila Alves and their two children, 18-month-old Levi and 3-week-old Vida, but that’s just not enough for his not-quite mother-in-law. A recent report published in the National Enquirer alleged Alves’ mother, Multo Abrigado, wants the laid-back star to put his commitment in writing.
"Camila's mother is very traditional, and she's worried that since they are not married, Matthew could leave her daughter high and dry with two kids if he falls out of love with her,” a source revealed.
Because of those concerns, Abrigado has allegedly urged her daughter to ensure the “Ghosts of Girlfriends Past” star is prepared to pay in the event of troubles to come.
“Now Multo is pressuring (Camila) to get Matthew to commit to a legal agreement,” the insider explained. “She said, ‘He wanted you to carry his babies — he ought to take real responsibility.’ ”

According to the source, McConaughey has no desire to sign on any dotted line. Despite the wishes of Abrigado, a formal financial agreement with Alves is said to be out of the question.
“It's caused a rift between them, and Matthew's kind of scratching his head over it,” the source said. “He told me, ‘It seems kind of cold, doesn't it?’ But he’s got to realize that when couples love each other, they usually get married.”
Perry would ‘ditch’ singing for ‘Idol’
After enjoying a brief stint as one of “American Idol’s” revolving-door guest judges, singer Katy Perry revealed she’d swap her current pop-star status for a spot on the panel.
“The ‘American Idol’ experience was awesome,” Perry told MTV News shortly after she finished giving “Idol” hopefuls a piece of her mind. “If I was offered that job as a permanent host, I would ditch my career and take on that career. It’s such a fun, easy thing. I mean, I guess the pressure gets really on when you start eliminating the number of people that are going through (until) you've got the final two. So that can be kind of tense and stressful, but otherwise it’s kind of like judging a talent show.”Slideshow: Celebrity Sightings
After watching Perry take on judge Kara DioGuardi Tuesday night while an approving Simon Cowell looked on, some viewers might support the career switch.
‘Dexter’ star hoped to keep battle private
When actor Michael C. Hall disclosed his battle with Hodgkin’s lymphoma, he did so reluctantly. The “Dexter” star hoped the subject of his health wouldn’t make headlines, but public appearances and career accolades made it impossible to keep the matter private.
“For me, personal health is very much a personal matter,” Hall revealed to Parade magazine. “I had every intention of keeping the fact that I had cancer quiet, but because the award shows were imminent, I figured I’d better make a statement. Lucky for me, I’m able to assure everyone that I’m really on the road to recovery.”
Hall, who went on to win both a Golden Globe and SAG award shortly after the announcement, found one bright side to sharing his struggle — renewed contact with long-lost friends.
“I've had a lot of people reach out to me who I wouldn't have heard from otherwise, like former high-school teachers and friends from college,” the 38-year-old recalled. “I've actually spent a lot of time responding to a lot of really concerned but ultimately congratulatory e-mails.”
Dish on the fly
“Tik Tok” singer Ke$ha has no timetable when it comes to finding a place to call her own. The 22-year-old told Rolling Stone that her efforts to avoid haunted properties has slowed down the home hunt. “I don't have a house, but I'm looking for one,” she said. “I just want to make sure it’s not haunted.” After all, Ke$ha claims she already has one ghost hot on her heels. “I'm not just saying this to try to sound crazy, like, ‘Oh, I'm such a crazy pop star, I'm haunted,’ but actually, almost every night I have some psycho dream of the same ghost, either in my face, strangling me, smacking me, shoving me, or just hanging out. Sometimes he’s just there, scaring me, being an a--hole.” … Veteran tabloid talk show host Jerry Springer recently got the cold shoulder from “Jersey Shore’s” suddenly discerning Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi. According to an onlooker’s account published in the New York Post’s Page Six, the talk titan hoped to meet everyone’s favorite Guidette as they both dined at Shrine in MGM Grand at Foxwoods, but he soon learned she considered herself out of his league. “Springer was interested in an introduction, but both her manager and her father were opposed to the idea,” the source said. As for Snooki, she was heard to exclaim, “I am way classier than that. We are not ‘The Hills.’ ” When contacted by the Post, a rep for Springer denied the snub ever happened.
