Given that his last romance ended with a sentence of six months of community labor and five years probation, it’s no surprise that singer Chris Brown hasn’t been lucky in love lately. Just don’t get the wrong idea. Any dating dry spell since Brown’s February attack on ex-girlfriend Rihanna is strictly due his choice to “chill,” rather than a lack of willing women.

“My whole dating thing, I've been kind of chillin’,” Brown told MTV News. “I mean, I'm Chris Brown. I'm not saying it like that, but it's just, like, girls are going to be around. I love women. But I would say I've just been chillin'. I haven't really been trying to get into a relationship or trying to date anybody.”

Instead the 20-year-old recording artist insists he’s spending that all-important time by himself.

“I've just kind of been working on me,” Brown said, adding, “Just really getting me straight.”

Locklear’s ‘Melrose’ drama
While CW honchos hope Heather Locklear’s return to “Melrose Place” as barbed-tongued Amanda Woodward means must-see drama on the small screen, crewmembers have already seen plenty of drama backstage, according to a report in the National Enquirer.

“Heather's creating a lot of drama with her diva antics,” an on-set source revealed. “It's making our lives miserable.”

The insider alleges that it never takes much to set off the sensitive Locklear, which is why a missing button recently caused a commotion.

“Heather was absolutely fuming over the button and said, ‘You’ve got to be (bleeping) kidding me, right? What kind of operation is this?,’” the source recalled. “She then stormed off to her trailer.”

Sounds more like Woodward than the actress behind her, but a friend believes it’s really just a case of nerves. After all, the show’s success may depend on the television vet.

“(Heather’s) insecure and on edge,” a pal said. “The responsibility is weighing heavily on her.”

Dish on the fly
Horror typecasting isn’t a concern for Megan Fox. In an interview with Esquire UK, the actress admitted she loves the gore that comes with fright-fests. “I hate doing school scenes and office scenes; I hate doing mall scenes ... if I could do exciting genre films like (“Jennifer’s Body”) and be covered in blood and vomit for the rest of my life, I would be really happy,” Fox said of her experience in the recent box office flop. “The scenes in which I was covered in blood and break through glass were amazing. In one scene, I’m shoving a whole chicken in my mouth — a whole chicken! I love it; it is so different and original.” ... Move over Kardashian clan! Paris Hilton wants her spot in the “famous for being famous” limelight back. According to the New York Post’s Page Six, Kim Kardashian’s former BFF can’t handle the K-sisters’ success. “Paris is furious that Kim got her start by hanging out in Hollywood with her — and now, the Kardashians have it all, the reality shows, the magazine covers, the big appearance fees and promotional deals,” an insider revealed. “Paris has realized that standing for excess in a recession doesn't appeal. The Kardashian girls seem more real, and girls identify with them more.” So what’s a not-hot celebutante to do? Transform into a fan friendly Paris 2.0, of course, or as the insider put it, “ditch the pink Bentley and concentrate on developing herself.”
