Kanye West apologized for an outburst at the MTV Video Music Awards that was directed at country-pop sweetheart Taylor Swift.

West interrupted Swift's acceptance speech at Sunday's VMAs and said that Beyonce deserved to win.

On his blog later, he wrote: "I'M SOOOOO SORRY TO TAYLOR SWIFT AND HER FANS AND HER MOM. I SPOKE TO HER MOTHER RIGHT AFTER AND SHE SAID THE SAME THING MY MOTHER WOULD'VE SAID. SHE IS VERY TALENTED!"

For her part, Swift called the evening "interesting."

In an interview with Matt Lauer on Monday morning’s TODAY show, singer Pink said of West: “I just think he’s an idiot, he’s just a waste. He’s just a tool box.

“He’s getting exactly what he wants right now, people are talking about him,” Pink added before blowing a Bronx cheer and waving her hand dismissively.

Pink also said West wouldn’t have dared pull his stage-hogging antics if she was the one being honored. “It was the one time I really, really wish I would have won because I had this really amazing Alexander McQueen purse with brass knuckles on it,” she said.

“I honestly don’t think it would have happened if I were up there. But Taylor Swift is awesome; she deserved her moment.”

She added that Beyonce “is a classy lady for what she did” in bringing Swift onstage later in the evening to finish her acceptance speech.
