The on-again off-again romance between Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer could be on-again once more. Though friends of the actress are said to be against the idea, Heat magazine reports Aniston still holds out hope for the revolving-door relationship.

“(John) wasn’t calling her or texting her,” an insider from the set on Aniston’s upcoming film “The Baster” revealed. “But, as she got lonelier and the shoot for her new movie wore on, she started reaching out to him, sometimes very late at night and sometimes after a few too many glasses of wine.”

Aniston may be eager to kick off round three with the singer-songwriter, but her best pal and former TV “Friend” Courteney Cox believes the actress is about to make a big mistake.

“Courteney is the biggest objector to a John reunion,” the source explained. “They never got along and Courteney is someone who has always told Jennifer she’s just too good for John.”

Candy Spelling: Tori’s estrangement killed her father
Public sideswipes are nothing new in the mother-daughter feud between Candy and Tori Spelling, but the matriarch took the blows to a new low Thursday. While promoting her book, “Stories from Candyland,” the celebrity mom went so far as to blame her daughter for the death of legendary film and television producer Aaron Spelling.

“My daughter one day decided she wasn’t speaking to my husband, myself and my son,” Candy Spelling told the hosts of WMAS’s Kellogg Crew. “That’s how it’s continued for, oh gosh, the last four or five years. It was sad because that’s what killed my husband actually. He just didn’t want to live after that. You know he’d done everything he could possibly do for his daughter and she wanted no part of him once he couldn’t do anything for her.”

Though Team Tori has yet to fire back at the elder Spelling, history is on the side of the “Beverly Hills 90210” alumna. Aaron Spelling died in 2006, at the age of 83, due to complications from a stoke.

Dish on the fly
Slideshow: Celebrity Sightings Just because “House” star Hugh Laurie has one of those requisite celebrity Twitter accounts that are all the rage doesn’t mean he’s a fan of the online phenomenon. “As I look around my friends’ tweets I see banality on all sides,” Laurie said in a quote posted to StarPulse. The actor’s problem isn’t with the platform, just how the masses use it. “I think if people were able to take these 140 characters (allowed in each post) and develop a poetic Western form — a haiku of our own in which all human existence could be compressed into those 140 characters — that would be a satisfying thing, but that’s not what I see when I read them.” … Don’t expect Paris Hilton’s boyfriend, Doug Reinhardt, to show his face around “The Hills” again. Apparently Reinhardt, whose most memorable TV moment came when “Hills” hottie Lauren Conrad unceremoniously dumped him, finds the show too faux. “The show is, like, so lame and fake,” Hilton told Us Weekly on behalf of her man. “He doesn’t even want to be a part of it.” Reality TV fans hoping to catch another glimpse of Reinhardt can tune into the presumably not-at-all “lame and fake” second season of “Paris Hilton’s My New BFF.”
