According to “American Idol” newbie judge Kara DioGuardi, when it comes to having a promising pop music career, size matters.
It seems DioGuardi looks at Jessica Simpson’s headline-inspiring waistline as a warning for contestants.
“When you look at someone like Jessica, I don’t know if she gained weight, but it’s all I’ve heard about,” DioGuardi told E! Online. “I’m looking for someone with a great voice, but if someone is 50 pounds overweight, I have to tell them the reality — that it might hold them back.”
Good thing full-figured Grammy- and Academy Award-winning “Idol” alum Jennifer Hudson didn’t allow weight worries to stand in her way.

Britney’s paparazzo ex says they’re still in love
A court order prevents Adnan Ghalib from coming within 250 feet of pop star Britney Spears, but the paparazzo’s love can’t be restrained.
According to a report in Heat magazine, Ghalib believes he and Spears are still an item.

Tara Reid talks rehab
The decision to put her battle with the bottle behind her and go to rehab was all her own, according to Tara Reid. The actress and former party girl spoke to In Touch Weekly about the voluntary stint that saved her life.
“Some people get forced to be in rehab,” Reid explained. “I went there by myself. I put myself there. It was the greatest decision I ever made.”
No longer feeling “sad and conflicted,” Reid believes her 60-day stay at Malibu’s Promises treatment center was just what she needed to get back on track.
“The hardest thing was walking through the door for the first time — finally admitting that I had a problem,” she said. “Rehab saved my life. Before I used to think about tomorrow and I hated it. Now I can’t wait because I am clean and sober and I am excited.”
