Long-lost Lohan wants a record of her own

Ali and Lindsay Lohan may have a new half-sister, and she wants to follow in their footsteps by recording an  album.

Alleged illegitimate Lohan sister Ashley Kaufmann is reportedly trying to follow in the footsteps of her possible half-sisters Lindsay and Ali by approaching studios about cutting a record deal.

A record-industry insider says, “Ashley has more talent than Lindsay or Ali.”

A Lohan family source adds, “Ashley’s singing ability just proves that the family talent comes from Michael (Lohan), not Dina Lohan.”

Michael Lohan, who is said to be Kaufmann’s father, took a paternity test this week. Results are expected in the next two weeks.

Jessica Simpson’s bodyguardsJessica Simpson’s boots were made for walking, but only while accompanied by a bodyguard, reports Life & Style magazine.

Simpson apparently employed security personnel during her recent trip to Nashville, Tenn., to promote her single “Come on Over,” the publication reports.

“Nashville is probably not the type of town where you need bodyguards,” Nashville-based country crooner Blake Shelton told the magazine.

Where did Simpson bring her burly plus-ones? “When she was at Lime nightclub with her girlfriends, her bodyguard stood there the whole time,” says a Nashville music-industry insider. “No one in Nashville goes out with a bodyguard, not even Garth Brooks! People in Nashville are so used to seeing stars that they don’t pay much attention to them. Maybe an occasional request for an autograph, but that’s about it.”

In other Jessica Simpson news, In Touch is reporting that Simpson was not to blame for Tony Romo’s post-season collapse, and that football doesn’t come between the couple.

Romo’s fellow Dallas Cowboy Michael Strahan told the magazine, “If they’re going to break up, it won’t be because it’s closer to football season, but probably because they’re not happy.”

Emmy shortlists are leaking
I wasn’t shy about giving shout-outs to some of the actors and shows I thought were deserving of Emmys prior to the ballot-submission deadline. Thanks to the L.A. Times’ Gold Derby, which has deep background reporting from Emmy insiders, it’s looking like I wasn’t too off-base.

Jake Johnson and Damon Wayans Jr. on the "Let's Be Cops," red carpet, Selena Gomez is immortalized in wax and more.

For starters, Gold Derby reports that Blair Underwood is on the short list for his work on “In Treatment.” Seriously, the guy has been in the business for 23 years doing consistent, quality work and he’s never gotten a nomination. If ever there was a deserving supporting actor, it’s Underwood.

Also, “Mad Men” is basically on the short list in nearly every acting category, but I'm disappointed that January Jones was left off. Don’t get me wrong, I like Christina Hendricks, but Jones seemed more complex. Most confounding: news that Marcia Cross, Felicity Huffman and Eva Longoria Parker still have decent shots at nominations. Really?
