Sure, she’s better known for her petty squabbles on “The Hills” and her constant quest for media attention, but Heidi Montag insists she’s interested in more than that. In an interview with USA Today, the reality TV star shared her spiritual side.

“I have been the most religious person since I was 2 years old,” Heidi, who calls herself “kind of non-denominational Baptist,” said. “I always felt this crazy connection to God.”

When she was younger, that connection inspired Heidi to dream of one day devoting her life to God and working as a missionary in Africa. Now that the 21-year-old’s on a much different career path, she hopes to set her faith to music by releasing a Christian album.

As for Africa, the “Hills” hottie still plans to pay the continent a visit, but she’s bringing her made-for-TV fiancé, Spencer Pratt, along for the good works. USA Today reports that the pair will go this August to “feed children and help build things.”

Spence even suggested they might adopt a child while they’re there, but Heidi’s not ready. “Not right now,” she assured. “I think we'd be married before we do that.”

Until then, it’s the usual reality TV grind for the couple — scandals, intrigue and not liking Lauren Conrad very much. Speaking of Heidi’s favorite frenemy, she wants to set one thing straight.

“There were rumors about a sex tape (involving Lauren), but I had nothing to do with that,” Heidi insisted. “God knows the truth in all of this, and at the end of the day, that is the only thing that matters. Jesus was persecuted, and I'm going to get persecuted, ya know? But it doesn't matter to me.”

Christie Brinkley could come to regret public trial Christie Brinkley fought for the right to face off with soon-to-be ex-husband Peter Cook in open court, but winning the right to air their dirty laundry publicly may not be a real victory for the former supermodel, according to the New York Post’s Page Six.

Sources say Peter’s lawyers are planning to ruin Christie’s good-girl image for all the world to see.

“It's really bad stuff,” claimed one insider. “She's going to regret an open courtroom. They are going to present some testimony about the very insulting comments she made to the kids about (her second husband, Billy Joel). Insults to the children … that no man wants to be insulted about.”

But a source from Camp Brinkley insists Christie has nothing to worry about when the mudslinging begins.

“The notion she tried to poison the kids against Billy is preposterous,” the source said. “Peter is trying to plant falsehoods and innuendo.”

Dish on the fly While some think Jessica Simpson’s Real Girls Eat Meat T-shirt was intended as a jab at Tony Romo’s veggie-loving ex, Carrie Underwood, it’s Pamela Anderson who’s angry. The vegan PETA pal spoke to an Australian radio show about Jess’s fashion choice and didn’t hold back. “I think she is a bitch and whore,” Pam said. As for the shirt, “Actually, I don't know if she was talking about food or men.” On Monday, a rep for the former “Baywatch” babe told the New York Daily News, “(Pam) was joking.” No doubt Jessica will keep that in mind. … Charlize Theron has a new BFF in her “Hancock” co-star Will Smith. “We didn't get the chance to work that much together and yet it took us all of about five minutes to really fall madly in love with each other,” she told the Daily Record. “There was something about me and him. We're very similar people.”
