Mayer using looks to deflect queries about Jen?

It becomes easier to overlook the nagging questions about John Mayer’s possible relationship with Jennifer Aniston when he provides other distractions, such as his tattoos and haircut.

It becomes easier to overlook the nagging questions about John Mayer’s possible relationship with Jennifer Aniston when he provides other distractions, such as his tattoos and haircut.

Not long after he returned to New York City after his visit to Miami, Mayer visited his longtime stylist, Sally Hershberger, for a haircut. (Us Weekly reports that Hershberger references photos of Farrah Fawcett and Michael J. Fox before giving him his new feathered ’80-style coif.)

Even Hershberger was curious about his trip to see Aniston. The magazine reports that she asked about his time in Florida. “He said he had a blast. He was bouncing off the ground happy as a clown,” Hershberger revealed.

As for his new tattoo sleeve, a source close to Mayer said that the complicated design “tells a story about loves lost.” OK! magazine probed a little deeper and was told if there is a theme of loves lost, “it doesn’t include any mention of Jessica Simpson.” Ouch.

Ashton Kutcher never meant to marry
Ashton Kutcher sat down with Glamour magazine’s “Lunchdate” columnist Carole Radziwill and chatted about some of the illogical things he’s done in his life. Marrying Demi Moore was one of his surprising responses to that question.

“Marry my wife. Completely illogical. Because I had no intention of ever getting married,” Kutcher told Radziwill. “If I would have stopped and thought about it, I would have thought my way out of it. And I have no regrets. I have things that — if they were put in front of me today — I’d do differently, but I don’t regret them.”

Christina Aguilera poised to earn even more
The new mom might not be busy with her singing career, but she’s still looking after her other business interests, namely her fragrance line. Life & Style reports that Aguilera’s third fragrance, Inspire, will hit stores this fall.

“Christina’s worked hard to get the scent exactly how she wants it,” an insider close to the singer told the magazine. Aguilera’s history with fragrances is a good one: the magazine reports that both of Aguilera’s previous perfumes, Xpose and Simply Christina, sold well internationally. “Because of the success of those perfumes, it was a no-brainer to create another,” the insider says. “She’ll be shooting ads for it soon.”

Weekend box office
It is going to take a minor miracle for “Speed Racer” to go to the top of the box office. The film, an adaptation of the hit cartoon of the same name, is being labeled “a massive marketing disaster,” according to one well-placed industry insider I spoke to, and was not surprisingly, tracking to fall quite short of expectations.

“What Happens in Vegas” with Ashton Kutcher and Cameron Diaz has big star power but feels old already (there is something about their pairing that feels very 1999). It might actually beat “Speed Racer” since its appeal is broader and the film itself is actually not that bad, but the take-home message here is neither one will come in first place.

Look for “Iron Man” to do big numbers again — somewhere in the $50 million range — and come in first place for a second week in a row.
