“Grey’s Anatomy’s” resident dreamboat Patrick Dempsey accepts his role as primetime sex symbol and all the attention that comes with it, but more important to the actor, so does his wife. Speaking to Life & Style, Patrick shared how Mrs. McDreamy handles his fame.

“As far as my so-called sex-symbol status goes, I let my wife, Jill, know that I’m sexy all the time!” Patrick joked. “No, she likes it. It’s fun. It’s great for your confidence. And then you look in the mirror and go, ‘Oh, there’s the reality.’ But women fans can be very aggressive. I couldn’t handle it as well as my wife does. But it’s funny. I don’t take it too seriously.”

Patrick met his ever-so-understanding wife 10 years ago. “Jill is a stylist, and I had an appointment at her hair salon,” he told the magazine. “She didn’t believe it was actually Patrick Dempsey who she’d be working on because one of the people who made her appointments was always messing with her. She was really surprised when I showed up. And from that moment, we just started flirting.”

It was a case of delayed love-at-first-sight for the couple. Patrick knew Jill was the woman for him the moment he met her, but previous relationships postponed their love connection. “It took three years for us to go out on our first date because we were taken.”

Seven years later, they keep the romance going strong by making sure Patrick keeps his hair appointments. “It’s like our date night when we work together because we can talk and don’t have our three kids around.”

Adam Carolla reflects on his ‘Dancing’ daysWhat Adam Carolla lacked in ballroom basics, he made up for in dance floor humor, but does the funnyman miss his “Dancing With the Stars” days? After a sarcasm-steeped interview with People magazine, it’s still hard to say.

Jake Johnson and Damon Wayans Jr. on the "Let's Be Cops," red carpet, Selena Gomez is immortalized in wax and more.

“There was a bit of what you might call Stockholm Syndrome (after leaving the show), where I actually felt sympathy for and missed my captors after the first couple of days,” Adam confessed. “I feel much like what Patty Hearst must have gone through, with the Symbionese Liberation Front, back in the ’70s.”

Though he often made fun of the sequined spectacular on his radio show, Adam admits he really got into the experience. “Like they said, ‘Be prepared, you will be bitten by the dance bug.’ It is true, by the time week three rolls around, you’re standing in front of a full-length mirror, with a couple of guys with a mouth full of pins, and you’re saying, ‘Why don’t we bring it in a little bit in the back, and show off my shoulders.’”

As for any lingering effects from his dancing duty, Adam added, “I bought a 55-gallon drum of Mystic Tan, and I’ve actually found that spraying it on is fine, but you get a thicker coat if you dip yourself.”

Dish on the flyIt was a simple case of peer pressure that led Harrison Ford to start sporting an earring 10 years ago. After “a semi-drunken lunch with (the late) Ed Bradley and Jimmy Buffett, who were both wearing rings,” the “Indiana Jones” star left pining for a piercing. “I walked down Madison Avenue till I found the first jewelry store that pierced ears,” he told Maxim. … Model-turned-actress-turned-beachwear designer Liz Hurley is strutting her stuff to promote her new line of bikinis. “Shooting bikinis is now my life, which as you can imagine is unmitigated hell.” But according to a quote posted to Digital Spy, Liz finds comfort in a little well-placed retouching. “I rely on nice photographers and a certain amount of retouching. … I don’t mind if you want to make me a bit thinner and a bit younger, but you can’t give me a different jaw or eyebrows. But the vanity retouching — well, who wouldn’t?”
