With the release of "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street" only weeks away, star Johnny Depp happily reported that his daughter, Lily-Rose, is past the illness she contracted soon after filming for the new Tim Burton movie began.
“Now every single millisecond is a mini-celebration,” Johnny recently told Entertainment Weekly. “Every time we get to breathe in and exhale is a huge victory. (Lily-Rose) pulled through beautifully, perfectly, with no lasting anything."
Lily-Rose, Depp’s 8-year-old daughter with Vanessa Paradis, grew mysteriously ill in late February and was rushed to a British hospital not far from the “Sweeney Todd” set. Nine frightening days later, doctors discovered Lily Rose’s ailment resulted from a seemingly insignificant prick from a rusty tack. According to In Touch, "the wound was left untreated" and "blood poisoning developed. It has now spread through her body and has affected her vital organs."
“To say it was the darkest moment, that's nothing,” Johnny told EW. “It doesn't come close to describing it. Words are so small. But knowing that those people, Tim (Burton) and the crew, shut down and stood by and waited ... I didn't know if I was coming back. I remember talking with Tim, saying, ‘Maybe you need to recast.’”

Insulted Ozzy calls out ‘lazy’ cops
Mumble-mouthed Ozzy Osbourne isn’t amused by North Dakota cops who used his name to round up could-be criminals, Associated Press reports. In fact, the self-proclaimed Prince of Darkness said his reputation was “tarnished” by Sheriff Laney, whose police department sent out 500 invites to a phony pre-show party for Ozzy and Rob Zombie near the metal musicians’ Fargo concert venue.
"Instead of holding a press conference to pat himself on the back, Sheriff Laney should be apologizing to me for using my name in connection with these arrests," Osbourne said in a statement. "It is insulting to me and to my audience and it shows how lazy this particular sheriff is when it comes to doing his job."
Slideshow: Celebrity Sightings Sheriff Laney, whose rock ‘n’ roll sting operation resulted in 30 arrests, said he meant no disrespect. “What we did was a very creative law enforcement technique to lure individuals who had active criminal warrants to come to us," the peace officer explained.
What’s more, creativity counts for some criminals. "Three people called to say, 'I got one of those letters. Since you're being so creative, I'm turning myself in. Give me a court date,'" Laney said.
Simon Cowell’s boob job
According to one of Simon Cowell’s co-stars on the hit U.K. television show “X Factor,” the grumpy talent judge is now sporting a little something extra in the pectoral area. Louis Walsh spoke with News of the World on the plastic status of both the “American Idol” crank and Sharon Osbourne, another of his “X” co-judges.
“They all have new t*ts ... and lots of other work done,” Louis claimed. I'm the only one who hasn't had plastic surgery. Simon's definitely had a boob job. But Sharon has the best surgeon. She's going to give me her doctor's number.”
“Honestly, I'm serious. I just want maintenance, though, not everything like the others.” Getting in one more dig at Simon, Louis added, “I want to get really nice white teeth — but not like Simon's piano keys, which are not his own.”
Simon has gone from flabby to fit in recent shirtless photos, and he does have a gleaming row of Chiclets, but could Louis’ claims just be his way of getting revenge on his irritable co-worker? Well, he does boast, “I can get him back for anything he says to me.”
Dish on the fly
Despite his rumored romances with Rihanna and Helena Christensen, Josh Hartnett’s luck with the ladies ran out during a Band of Horses performance, according to Star. The actor eyed a potential match, then “he slid up next to the girl while she watched the band, but when she saw it was him, she turned and walked away,” a source told the magazine. Ouch. … TMZ took note of a recent flub from talk show titan Larry King. The venerable host asked Jerry Seinfeld if his ‘90s hit “Seinfeld” ended in cancellation. Bad move, Larry. “You think I got canceled?” Jerry asked, as if shocked that anyone would suggest such a thing. “I was the number one show on television, Larry … 75 million viewers in the last episode.” So there! … Naomi Campbell recently poked fun at her PDA-pitching ways, Page Six reports. “It's been a very interesting year,” the supermodel said at the 37th annual scholarship and awards dinner for the Black Action Retail Group. “I've learned many lessons, like no more phones.” Naomi famously flung a BlackBerry at an assistant in 2005, and just last year clocked her housekeeper with a jewel-encrusted cell phone. Guess it’s easy to have a laugh when you weren’t on the receiving end of the receiver.
