Shia LaBeouf was arrested in Chicago early Sunday morning, Access Hollywood has learned.

The 21-year-old star of “Transformers” was arrested at around 2:25 a.m. at a Walgreens in Downtown Chicago, Chicago Police spokesman Marcel Bright told the Chicago Tribune.

LaBeouf, who is in Chi-Town shooting a movie, refused to leave the store after several requests by security. As a result, a security guard called the police, Bright said.

The star of the upcoming fourth installment of “Indiana Jones” was cited on a misdemeanor count of trespassing. The complaint was signed by the security guard.

During his arrest LaBeouf was courteous to authorities, a source told Access.

Though he’s managed to have big box office successes with the likes of “Transformers” and “Disturbia,” until now, the actor has managed to avoid the pitfalls of young Hollywood.

Back in June, at the premiere of “Surf’s Up,” LaBeouf said he avoided the kinds of troubles other young stars have fallen into by dedicating himself to his work.

“Work is important to me and I treat it important and it’s been good to me,” LaBeouf previously told Access. “It’s like one of the best relationships I’ve had with anything. It’s been really good to my family so you gotta be good to it. Perception sometimes is more important than performance. If people perceive you as a good actor then they’ll wish for you to be a good actor and they’ll root for you when they watch you but if you come out and you’re going to clubs every night and people don’t root for you anymore.”

LaBeouf is due in court on the alleged offence on Nov. 28.
