Her 9-year-old daughter Amina nearly died after she was accidentally shot by a classmate, but Teri Bowman said she refused to accept the possibility that she would lose her child. “We’re so happy that she’s still here,” she said in a report airing Friday.

Though she selflessly shielded her two young children from a tornado while being battered to within an inch of her life, Stephanie Decker says she’s not a hero; the simple title "mom" fits her just fine. “It was instincts and protecting my children,” she said Wednesday.
