Reese Witherspoon is undeniably stunning as Elle’s October cover girl. But, as she confesses to the magazine, she didn’t always feel as good as she looks. Discussing post-divorce difficulties following her split with fellow actor Ryan Phillippe, Reese told Elle there were times she was practically paralyzed with emotional pain.

“Right around Christmas-time I was sitting in a parking lot and I felt like I just couldn’t get out of the car,” Reese recalled to the magazine. “It was like, I can’t get out of the car. And I thought, Okay, half of the parking lot has dealt with this. More than half of the parking lot has dealt with this. Okay, let’s make it a little bigger. Half of this city has dealt with this. Okay, let’s make it a little bigger-half of this country, until I finally got out of the car. It was like, it’s okay. It’s okay.”

According to Reese, her Oscar-winning role as June Carter Cash helped her make it through. “There’s this moment in ‘Walk the Line’ where June Carter says, ‘I was never aware of how much I was seen.’ I was very aware of how much I was seen. It was this moment of self-discovery and loss of identity and who was stepping out of the car — you know? Who is that person? Should I not be this honest?”

Unlike the young celebutantes of today, Reese doesn’t enjoy intense media scrutiny. “Everybody is hung out to dry now,” she said. “It’s one thing if you’re up for it and you want it, and you go out without your panties on. But if you’re wearing your panties — gosh darn it, leave me alone!”

No love lost between Osbourne and Love
Following a scathing News of the World expose by her brother, David Arden, “America’s Got Talent” judge Sharon Osbourne went to the Daily Mirror to set the record straight. According to David, Sharon refused their father’s dying wish to be buried next to their mother, insisted her “X-Factor” co-star Simon Cowell was gay and had frosty feelings for rocker Courtney Love. Not true, said Sharon … well, at least not all of it.

“I'm so embarrassed that this man is my brother,” Sharon told The Mirror. I swear on my children's lives, and may I go down in a plane tomorrow if I lie, but there is not one ounce of truth in those ugly little stories.” But later in the interview she did confess her brother was on to something with the Love hate.

“That’s one thing my brother got right — I will never have time for Courtney Love. She was the first person to give my son Jack the prescription drug OxyContin,” she revealed to the paper. “There's not a shadow of a doubt about that. My dislike towards her is very personal.” Jack Osbourne went into rehab for an OxyContin addiction in 2003.

“I'm not saying Jack wouldn't have taken it if she hadn't given it to him, but I'm appalled that an adult mother would give that to a 15-year-old boy. How could she do that to someone else's child? I haven't had a row with her, but I will never talk to her.”
