Recipe: Hot Chihuahua
(A Mexican play on the Greyhound)
- 8 ounces vodka
- 1 jalapeno pepper
- 8 ounces ruby red grapefruit juice
- 1 Grapefruit, cut into small slices for garnish twists
- Kosher salt (optional)
Slice jalapeno in quarter-inch slices and infuse vodka for 2 hours (or longer if you want it spicier/grassier). Rim four martini glasses with a slice of grapefruit juice and dip in salt, if desired. Working in two batches (two drinks each), pour vodka and grapefruit juice into a shaker over ice; shake until very, very cold, and strain into glasses. Garnish with grapefruit twist.
