Are Lindsay Lohan and Jane Fonda feuding?

They’re not, Fonda’s publicist insists, despite a report that the star was so furious with her co-star’s widely publicized bad behavior on the set of “Georgia Rule” that Fonda sent her a note scolding her.

“Jane was miffed and didn’t want Lohan at the movie premiere for ‘Georgia Rule,’ which will be held in Atlanta instead of L.A. on May 7. The Atlanta premiere will benefit the non-profit organization, which Jane Fonda’s co-chair of, G-CAPP,” according to former publicist Jonathan Jaxson. “Last word was that the staff was going to attempt to get Lindsay there regardless, for the media aspect. Jane would not be happy with her appearance, especially if she is diva-like or she doesn’t show when she tells others she will.”

Meanwhile, though, Lohan isn’t exactly giving her recent rehab stay a ringing endorsement. “It’s so weird that I went to rehab,” the “Mean Girls” star told Allure. “I always said I would die before I went to rehab.” The mag noted that Lohan still sounds “reluctant” about her stay there. “I don’t know that I am necessarily an addict,” she said. “I only know it’s very hard to live your life as a double life.”

Maguire up for ‘Spider-Man 4’
Tobey Maguire says he was thrown for a loop by his fame.

“After the first ‘Spider-Man’ came out, the attention I was getting made me uncomfortable and I retreated from being out very much in public,” Maguire told the Toronto Star. “It’s kind of weird because I knew going into things that there was the potential of being famous, but I wasn’t dreaming about it. I don’t feel I was striving for that or reaching for it. When it happened, a lot of it was shocking to me.”

Nevertheless, the actor says he’s prepared to put on his Spidey suit for the fourth time. “They’ll definitely develop a fourth movie,” Maguire said, “and write a screenplay and I would consider it if there’s a good script, a good story that I felt was worth telling and [director] Sam Raimi was involved and the right cast came together for it.”

Notes from all over
Did Simon Cowell contribute to the massacre at Virginia Tech? An expert on bullying says he did. “I think we are experiencing something amiss culturally where the TV shows, if you turn them on, [show] people are laughing at one another’s pain,” Barbara Coloroso, author of “The Bully, the Bullied, and the Bystander,” told Alberta’s Daily Herald Tribune. “Enjoying seeing someone kicked off the island, enjoying seeing someone go down in flames on ‘American Idol.’” ... Pamela Anderson visited an orphanage in Russia, but the former “Baywatch” star says it’s hard to adopt one of the children there. “It’s very difficult to adopt from Russia unless you are Russian or living in Russia, but it’s not common in their culture. They do not have a foster care system. When a child is orphaned that is their status — they will be schooled in the orphanage and maybe 5 percent get adopted. They will stay 'til they are 16 most of the time,” Anderson noted. “I’m going back to visit. I’m in love with them and their spirits.”  ... Natalie Portman politely told a reporter it was none of his business if she was dating her “Goya’s Ghosts” co-star, Gael Garcia Bernal. The 25-year-old actress added she was always shocked when reporters asked her when she was in her late teens if she was a virgin. “Remember there was that time when Britney Spears and Jessica Simpson were proclaiming their virginity,” Portman told the London Guardian. “I was like, ‘Are you kidding?’”
