NBC's Lisa Daniels

Lisa Daniels is a New-York based correspondent for NBC News. Her reports appear on "Today," "NBC Nightly News," and MSNBC, NBC News' 24-hour cable network.

Since joining NBC, Daniels has covered a wide range of stories, from the West Virginia Sago mine disaster to the devastating aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Daniels has also reported extensively on a number of legal stories including the Michael Jackson trial and the legal battle over Terri Schiavo's right to die.

Prior to joining NBC News, Daniels was a daytime anchor on MSNBC and frequent substitute host of the nightly legal-affairs show, "The Abrams Report".

Daniels started her career in local news at WENY-TV in Elmira, N.Y. She then moved to WGGB-TV, the ABC affiliate in Springfield, Mass., where she was the primary evening anchor. Before joining MSNBC, Daniels was an anchor at WCBS-TV in New York where she received an Emmy for her breaking news coverage of the August 2003 New York City blackout.

Before starting her broadcasting career, Daniels was a lawyer with the New York law firm Davis Polk & Wardwell.

Daniels graduated first in her class from Hamilton College in New York with dual degrees in mathematics and history. She went on to graduate cum laude from Harvard Law School.

Daniels currently resides with her husband in New York City.
