Lionel Richie says he’s so worried about daughter Nicole’s dramatic weight loss that he took her to a doctor, who assured him she’s not anorexic.
“I stood in front of [the doctor], just like you and I now, looked him in the eyes, and I said ‘Is it anorexia?’ And he said ‘It isn’t anorexia,’” the musician told the Swedish newspaper Expressen, according to our translator. He says Nicole’s weight loss is “stress-related” and he believes it’s due to his divorce from her mother and from all the media attention his daughter gets.
“I live with the constant fear that Nicole is going to become the next Princess Diana,” Richie said, apparently referring to the late royal’s death while she was being pursued by paparazzi. “Just to give an example of how crazy everything has become, I always know when Nicole is on her way home because she is always followed by a helicopter and seven cars. It’s harassment.”
But, he claims, photos of Nicole have been digitized to make her look even skinnier than she is. “Many times, they manipulate pictures of her,” he says. “She’s shown me the difference between the original and what’s published in the newspaper. They make her look much worse.”
Travis Barker, or mistaken identity?
Gossips are saying that Paris Hilton has hooked up with Travis Barker. She says it’s a case of mistaken identity — it was just a friend of Barker's.
Gossips are buzzing that the partying heiress was spotted getting hot and heavy with newly-single Travis Barker of Blink 182 at the Spearmint Rhino in Las Vegas. “They were making out like crazy,” a source told In Touch Weekly.
“I did not make out with Travis Barker,” Hilton corrected the gossipers. “I was with his friend Alex, who I met that night. It’s nothing serious. He looks like Travis, he has tattoos all over his arms, and he has a mohawk. People must have seen us and confused him with Travis.”
Notes from all over
Rachel Weisz’s fiancé didn’t mind directing her love scenes with Hugh Jackman in “The Fountain.” “I’m a pervert so I had no issue with it,” Darren Aronofsky said, reports the London Evening Standard. “I enjoy shooting sex scenes very much. She’s an actress; he’s an actor. It’s mostly make-believe, and when you shout ‘cut,’ it’s over.” ... Donatella Versace showed up at a Madonna concert in Amsterdam with bodyguards in tow and, reports one fan, had to watch most of the concert on a big screen because she remained seated while the fans around her stood up. . . . Rupert Everett believes that Mel Gibson’s career will recover from his drunken anti-Semitic outburst . “He’ll get back because no one in entertainment can remember what happened the day before yesterday,” Everett told the London Mail. “He’ll have to go easy on the Nativity stories though.”
