Looks like boozing may not be Mel Gibson’s only problem.
The actor, who recently sought rehabilitation after an alcohol-fueled anti-Semitic rant , is the subject of a scathing article in the upcoming issue of the National Enquirer, which is alleging that the “Passion of the Christ” director is “a man who has indulged in years of cocaine and booze binges and torrid extramarital affairs.”
Gibson has apologized for his recent behavior, but if the tab is to be believed, the married father of seven has more apologizing to do.
“His religious fanaticism cloaked a dark, desperate soul who was capable of horrendous rage and bigotry — fueled by massive amounts of booze, drugs, and available women,” a “Malibu friend” told the tab, which goes on to detail alleged incidents of cocaine use and womanizing. “Mel is his own worst enemy,” opines the friend. “His downfall has revealed a complicated, seedy secret life he kept from everyone.”

New romance doesn't thrill ex-'Newlywed' Simpson
Jessica Simpson’s romance with Zach Braff isn’t going too well.
The recently divorced “Newlyweds” star seemed “put off” by the advances of the “Scrubs” star at a recent event at the Pink Elephant in the Hamptons, according to the new issue of The Star. “He was flirting up a storm and being very aggressive,” a source told the tab. “You could tell it grossed out Jess and her friends. He was like a horny schoolboy.”
In fact, none of the string of hotties the former “Newlyweds” star has been linked with is panning out. She “blindsided” her “Employee of the Month” co-star, Dane Cook, by calling him on June 22 and saying they should go their separate ways, according to the Star. Spokespeople for the two have denied that they were ever an item, but gossips insist that they’ve secretly dated. And Simpson’s fling with Maroon 5 singer Adam Levine has apparently flopped.
“Jessica is lonely and needy,” a source tells Star. “She’s having a hard time dealing with the fact that [ex-husband] Nick [Lachey] is in love [with MTV’s Vanessa Minnillo].”
Notes from all over
Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie talked to each other — whether they liked it or not. The feuding best friends were forced to exchange words on the season finale of “The Simple Life: ‘Til Death Do Us Part,” reports In Touch Weekly. “Nicole, we have to talk,” Hilton says to Richie in the August 13 episode. “This has got to stop.” Then the screen fades to black. Now some are speculating that the two-year feud was little more than a publicity stunt to give the “reality show” a plot twist. . . . Speaking of Paris, a source says that the partying heiress’ ringtone on her cell phone is the song “Stars are Blind,” by, of course, Paris Hilton. . . . Lindsay Lohan has revealed why she and Madonna are new best friends. “She told me that her daughter Lourdes is a fan of mine,” the “Mean Girls” star told the London Sun. “We just clicked instantly after that. We also share the same hairdresser.”
