Britney Spears isn’t a “nice person.” That’s the news flash from a pool worker who was fired by the “Oops! ... I Did It Again” singer, who says that Spears axed him for talking too much to her hubby, Kevin Federline.

“I was hanging out a little bit,” ex-employee Jon LaLanne told In Touch Weekly. “She came out screaming at Kevin for lying around, then looked at me like I was to blame.” The next day, LaLanne, says he got a call from Spears’ people, telling him not to report for work. LaLanne, son of the famed exercise guru Jack LaLanne, also has a band, and he says he and K-Fed would talk music. But, he claims, Spears would get jealous when her hubby talked to anyone else.

“She wants Kevin on a leash,” LaLanne told the mag. “She fires everybody. I figured, ‘Why not me?’ I just didn’t expect her to be so mean.” He adds: “It’s a revolving door there. She’s not the nice person everyone thinks she is.”

Wedding plansPamela Anderson’s close friend photographer David LaChapelle will be the “maid” of honor at her wedding to Kid Rock. That’s just one of the details coming out about the former “Baywatch” babe to the shaggy rocker, reports US weekly.

The happy couple’s nuptials are to take place this Saturday in Saint Tropez aboard a 164-yacht, Thunder Gulch, according to the mag. There will be pink and white lilies and the bride — who wore a bikini for her wedding to Tommy Lee — will wear a dress. A white one. After a lunch with Veuve Clicquot champagne aboard the ship, the revelers will head to a night club where the partying is expected to continue until 5 a.m.

The nuptials, however, may not be legal. “They must be resident for one month before the wedding” for the ceremony to be legal, the Saint Tropez town hall spokesman told US.

Notes from all overBeyoncé Knowles fans are battle it over whether her new video for “Déjà Vu” is any good. “This video is an underwhelming representation of the talent and quality of previous music video projects of Ms. Knowles,” one fan complains in a petition already signed by thousands of fans that’s being sent to Knowles’ label, Columbia Records. The petition complains about “erratic, confusing and alarming at times” dancing, Knowles’ “ridiculous” clothing, and the “unacceptable” sexy scenes between Knowles and her boyfriend, Jay-Z.  “Beyoncé is an artist,” argues a petition responding to the first, which is also being sent to Columbia and has also signed by thousands of fans. “Art is meant to inspire discussion and debate. The “Déjà Vu” video does just that.”  ... Clear Channel spokespeople, which earlier said they had “no comment” on whether or not the chain of radio stations was boycotting music for her anti-Bush comments, now tells The Scoop that their data “seem to prove” that there’s no such boycott. They’re also denying that Clear Channel ever boycotted the Dixie Chicks ... Paris Hilton says that Barry Manilow is one her favorite singers. Just don’t ask her to name any of his songs. “I don't know what he sings, but he's sexy,” the partying heiress told the Scottish Daily Record. “He has nice calm music.”
