Did Lindsay Lohan visit a hypnotist to cure her shopping addiction?

The “Mean Girls” star dropped more than $1 million on clothes and accessories last year, according to Life & Style weekly, and has turned to the help of a hypnotist to help end her penchant to spend money.

“Her closets are overflowing with things like $8,000 Prada dresses and $2,000 Balenciaga bags,” according to her stylist Rachel Zoe. “She has so many clothes, she never even wears some of them!”

The 19-year-old reportedly has been known to spend $100,000 a day, once allegedly blowing $20,000 in 20 minutes. “I don’t want to be the best-dressed person in the poorhouse,” Lohan said, reports L&S, which claims that the visits to the hypnotist are already working. During a May 23 stop at Rosasen in LA, she spent a relatively paltry $920.

Lohan’s rep, however, didn’t mince words blasting the story. “That is just a bunch of crap,” she told The Scoop. “There’s no hypnotist. And Lindsay loves clothes, but the idea that she spent that much last year is completely stupid.”

Vaughn's new role
Vince Vaughn says he believes that the tabloids are “disappointed” that in the soap opera of celeb watching, he was “cast” as Jennifer Aniston’s main squeeze.

When Ellen DeGeneres asked the star of “The Break-Up” what it feels like to be promoting the film while there is so much attention being paid to his relationship with co-star Aniston, Vaughn said he doesn’t take it all personally.

“You know they [tabloid reporters] are just doing their job. They're trying to sell magazines, so you kind of try to take it with a grain of salt,” Vaughn says in an segment set to air on Friday. “There’s a lot more extreme stuff that folks have to go through than that… but I kind of feel like the tabloids sometimes write stuff that is true and a lot of time they make stuff up. They’re kind of like soap opera writers where you’re like the story they think will sell. I feel they are very disappointed with the casting of me. They’re like I don’t know… how do we write this guy off the show?”

Notes from all over
Looks like Britney Spears’ woes are taking their toll on her popularity. The “Oops, I Did It Again” singer was displaced by porn star Jenna Jameson in a poll as the most searched celeb on the Internet. “After three years at number one, Britney Spears is no longer the most popular peach on the Internet,” according to ZOO, a UK men’s mag. “So let’s all rise for the new leader, porn legend Jenna Jameson.”   . . . Madonna continues to berate audiences who don't respond appropriately to her "Confessions Tour." When a Las Vegas crowd was somewhat subdued, she hollered: "You guys are supposed to be the liveliest people on the planet." And when they didn't repeat a lyric to her liking, she chided, "You guys [bleep]." ... He’s baaack. Discredited memoirist James Frey says he’s busy writing another book. “It’s been awhile. Needed some time away. Back now,” the “Million Little Pieces” author wrote on his Web site. “Writing a film about the Hells Angels for director Tony Scott. Recently started a new book. Film should be finished sometime this summer, book about a year from now.”
