I’m so excited to be working with TODAY.com to bring you my own personal tips and tricks to help this holiday season. I’ll be covering a wide range of fun goodies just for you!

To start off, I’ll be focusing on one of my favorite budget-friendly ways to freshen up my home for the holidays — adding pops of color. It is so easy to fall back on the same classic decorating items that you use year-after-year, but truthfully, all you need is to add a dose of a non-traditional color to liven up your holiday decor.

Turquoise, purples and even pinks can help make your space festive yet updated. It’s as simple as changing up the napkins on your holiday dinner table. Here are three easy ways to make it happen:

Throw blankets

I love incorporating throw blankets as much as possible, so much so that they’re found in almost every room of my home during the holidays. Instead of picking up a blanket in a neutral palette, opt for a burst of color. Look to these Chenille Throws that do so without breaking the bank. You can drape them on sofas, chairs — you name it.

Ornaments

Apply a splash of color to your tree to easily tie your home’s holiday decor all together. Brightly colored ornaments, like this Faceted Glass Ornament  or Peacock Glass Ornament Ball, can really jazz up a neutral holiday decor palette and will instantly spice up your home for Christmas.

Wreaths

Wreaths are a staple in my home during the holidays. They can hang anywhere in your house from the door to cabinets. Incorporate that fresh pop of color by adding a vibrant ribbon, faux flowers or even colorful ornaments to a traditional wreath to make it your own! Or if you’re short on time, have some fun with this Bright Ornament Ball Wreath.
