Are you playing host or hostess this holiday season? We scoured the Internet to bring you these Pinterest-approved holiday hacks — fun, festive tricks you can try around the house to make things a little merrier!

1. Breakfast "cupcakes"

When you have a house full of guests, the last thing you want to be doing is making and cleaning up meals for everyone. This super simple trick makes feeding a big group easy, and people can munch on these breakfast "cupcakes" whenever they stroll through the kitchen — and just toss the wrappers in the trash. No dishes!

Inspired by Betty Crocker and similar recipes on Pinterest.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 pound sausage or bacon
  • 1 dozen eggs
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped green pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 cup grated cheese

Directions:

  • Preheat oven to 350.
  • In a skillet, brown the sausage or bacon over medium heat; drain.
  • In a large bowl, beat together the eggs. Add onion, green pepper, salt and pepper. Stir in meat and cheese.
  • Ladle into muffin cups coated with cooking spray. Bake 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick in the center comes out clean.
  • Makes 1 dozen.

2. Wine glass candlesticks

If you can't find your candlesticks, don't have enough, or just want to play around with something fun and new, try this incredibly simple hack: Just take a few spare wine glasses, flip them over, and set tea lights or short candles on top for a unique table setting.

You can mix and match heights if you have different types of glasses, or even dress up the glasses by filling them with ornaments, decorations or candy for a little extra festive flair.

 3. DIY snow!

If you wish you were having a white Christmas or just want a way to bring the snow indoors, whip up a batch of this fake "snow" in just a few minutes, with supplies you likely have lying around the house!

You just need two ingredients: baking soda and shaving cream. Pour a box of baking soda into a large bowl, and slowly add the shaving cream (up to a can). Mix it together as you add the shaving cream until it gets to be the consistency of fresh, powdery snow.

You can use it to jazz up holiday decor, sprinkle it on your holiday table or mantel, or build little snowmen or snowballs. This is also sure to entertain kids, if you want to give them a fun (slightly messy!) project that cleans up easily! The best part is that it doesn't melt, so it will still look like powdered snow the next day.
