The 1 thing to do when laying out a new rug

Got a new rug in the house? Simply rolling it out on the floor isn't enough. You'll want to take it one step further to ensure that the rug is safe, secure and won't become a tripping hazard.

All it takes is a few extra seconds of attention. Interior designer and TODAY Tastemaker Francesco Bilotto is sharing his quick fix for keeping rug edges down.

Materials needed

  • Double-sided carpet tape

Instructions

1. Attach tape to the carpet edges.

2. Peel the backside off of the tape.

3. Pat carpet smooth to the floor.
