Shannen Doherty shares mixed feelings on remission from breast cancer

Beloved actress Shannen Doherty already had plenty of fans, but her candor and positivity in documenting her struggle with breast cancer has won her even more.

On Friday night, Doherty, 46, had some good news to share with all who have been following her health journey: she is officially in remission from the diagnosis she received in August 2015.

"Moments. They happen," Doherty captioned a photo of herself taking in an emotional beat on the floor. "Today was and is a moment."

Though Doherty spoke of a "heart that is certainly lighter," she also expressed uncertainty at how to react to the R-word. "Good news? YES. Overwhelming. YES. Now more waiting," she said. "As every single one of my fellow cancer family knows, the next five years is crucial. Reoccurrences happen all the time."
