On Friday, Matt Lauer and the team welcomed Jenna to her new weekday role. “You’re going to be seeing Jenna a lot here — that is the good news. The bad news is you’re going to be leaving your fans on the weekend show,” Matt said.

“I am. But I’ve done weekends now for it seems like 108 years,” said Jenna. “So I’m finally going to know what a Friday night is like after 6pm.”

“You’re going to spend a little more time on the weekends with your ever-growing family, which is good news for you,” Matt added. “Welcome aboard on the weekdays.”

“This new role is tailor-made for Jenna,” said NBC News President Deborah Turness. “Anyone who has seen her health and fitness segments on TODAY, as well as her reporting across all of our platforms, knows what a brilliant expert she is and how passionate she is about the topic.”

Stay tuned: Jenna will begin her newly-created role September 19 with a segment on the new “yoga pose” craze where she will interview (and pose) with Hilaria Baldwin. Then, on September 29, she will launch her Pick-A-Part series, where she will give viewers easy tips on how to tone and define specific body parts. She will continue her national and feature reporting each week across NBC News.
