Words. Powerful little tools, aren’t they? We say they can’t hurt us as much as sticks and stones, but that’s not true. Words can sting. Words can suck. But words can also move you and motivate you and hold you up when you want to fall down, and keep you going when you want to quit. Words can help you endure. 

That’s why they’re such a big part of my training with my clients. They help me connect to you and they help you connect to the finish line. 

There are three quotes that I’ve married myself to over the years... three groups of words which have held my hand through the bad times, tucked me into bed through the scary times, kept me company through the painful times and allowed me to taste every ounce of my experiences through the good times. 

If it doesn't challenge you, it won't change you. 
Think about that. Say this to yourself when you’ve reached 50 mountain climbers and you have to get to 100. Say this to yourself when you really want that cookie on the dessert plate at the restaurant. Say this to yourself when your alarm goes off at ungodly pre-dawn hour for your workout. Say this to yourself when you’re the last one at work at night, putting in the extra hours... IF IT DOESN’T CHALLENGE YOU, IT WON’T CHANGE YOU.

Fate loves the fearless. 
We can plan and schedule and stack and arrange and pile a to-do list so high, no stone could possibly be left unturned. We can make sure every "t" is crossed, every "i" dotted. We can plan our gym schedules, our meals, our vacations, our sex... everything. But sometimes... sometimes, FATE LOVES THE FEARLESS. So every once in a while, take a left instead of your scheduled right. Do something fearlessly crazy and see what happens. You may be surprised.

Be here now. 
People ask me all the time how I juggle work, home, gym and mommyhood. I do it by being present. Wherever I am at any given time, that’s what gets my attention. When I’m home with my family, my head and heart are home with them. When I’m at work, my focus is on work. When I’m at the gym, I’m all in. Don’t come train with me if you didn’t bring your whole self. You will do a disservice to yourself, to me and to your session. If you respect the task at hand, if you can be present at all times, living in each moment, if you can BE HERE NOW, nothing will ever get dropped.
