Fire, The Wheel, Spreadable Beer. When alien civilizations destroy the earth and look at humankind's greatest achievements, these three will surely tower above the rest.
Thanks to some brilliant Italians whose love of beer was clearly matched only by their affinity for spreadable toast toppings, a "Nutella-Like Chocolate Beer Spread" now exists and is (possibly) the most delicious thing we've never tried.
The spread is described as "a sweet and beer-perfumed jelly with an intense scent and a full-bodied taste." You had us at beer for breakfast.
Unfortunately, this wonder product (called "Birra Spalmabile") is only available in the E.U. for now, but according to its website, Selfridges hopes to expand shipping to other countries soon—including, thankfully, the U.S.
In the meantime we'll just have to settle for Nutella on our toast and dream of what the near-future will bring.
