These football-themed cocktails are a sweet way to celebrate game day

While many fans will be tailgating for this weekend, more are actually homegating. That’s right there’s now an official name for those lazy Sundays full of great snacks and family and friends gathered around to watch their home teams from the comfort of their couches. Whether you’re headed to the stadium or homegating, you’re in good company. Almost 90 percent of Americans will be celebrating their favorite teams right alongside you. So we thought it the perfect time to do a head- to-head toast at the bar.

All 32 NFL teams have inspired mocktails and cocktails. Below are two recipes perfect for any fan. First up is the Fantasy Football cocktail. The purple color makes a fun fantasy-styled sip perfect for the non- beer loving football fan. Next up is the Wide Receiver cocktail. This simple combo of the all-American spirit, bourbon, and sweet tea is appealing to a wide audience, thus its name. Each are easy to make and perfect for game time. If you’re not up for mixing drinks, there’s surely a hometown beer from your favorite team’s city to toast with this weekend. If you’re hosting, grab a local brew and one from the opposing team and offer a half-time taste-off between the two!

Fantasy Football Cocktail

Makes 1 drink

  • 1 ½ ounce vodka
  • ½ ounce blue curacao
  • 1 ounce black raspberry liqueur
  • 3 ounces cranberry juice

In a shaker filled with ice combine all of the ingredients and shake to combine and chill. Strain or serve over ice.

Wide Receiver Cocktail

Makes 1 drink

  • 2 ounces Jack Daniels Single Barrel Bourbon
  • 4 ounces sweet tea (sweetened with honey)

In a tall glass filled with ice combine the bourbon and the honey- sweetened tea. Stir and enjoy.
