The biggest news to come out of Ohio since the Republican National Convention isn't related to politics; it's this cuh-ray-zee Cheetos Burrito.
Stuffed with seasoned ground beef, yellow rice, gooey nacho cheese and Cheetos, the over-the-top burrito (or bur-Cheeto) will be tested out at select Taco Bell locations in Cincinnati, Ohio starting in mid-August. The wrap, which will only cost $1, follows in the cheesy footprints of Burger King's Mac n' Cheetos (macaroni and cheese inside a deep-fried Cheetos-flavored shell) which were rolled out in late June.
But that's not the only thing that's new with the fast food giant. Taco Bell is also planning to test out Walking Nachos, the company said in an email to TODAY Food. According to the company, Walking Nachos are portable foil-lined bags filled with bite-sized seasoned tortilla chips, seasoned ground beef, guacamole, sour cream, a three-cheese blend, gooey nacho cheese and pico de gallo.
Similar to classic Frito Pie or Walking Tacos (usually made with Fritos, chili con carne, chopped onions and shredded cheddar cheese), the Walking Nachos turns a usually plated dish into a portable bagged snack. Here at TODAY Food, this limited-edition item sounds more promising than the burrito. So, how can you get your hands on these guys? Taco Bell will begin testing them out in Charlotte, North Carolina in mid-August. In the meantime, we might just make our own version at home.
