Move over, Turducken — it's all about the "Swineapple" now.

But what exactly is a Swineapple and how the heck do you make it?

The ultimate Frankenstein mashup dish of summer barbecues has taken Pinterest and Instagram by storm, thanks to home cooks who have been trying their hand at making it, and sharing their sweet and salty creations. There are already over 1,000 tags on Instagram and countless pins for this porky project.

So what exactly is it?

A Swineapple starts with a whole pineapple fruit, peeled and cored. Cooks then stuff the hollowed-out center with ribs or pulled pork. To finish it off, the stuffed fruit is then wrapped in a woven meat blanket of delicious bacon. Before cooking, toothpicks are used liberally to keep things in place, then the whole thing is thrown on the grill. About an hour later, you'll have the perfect sweet and savory addition for any backyard cookout.

The trending recipe has actually been circulating on the internet for a few years now. One of the earliest posts we found was from Josh Bush, who first shared his rendition of the 'Swineapple' in a Facebook group for meat smoking aficionados in April 2015. Inspired foodies like blogger Gusface Grillah picked up the recipe and needless to say, the rest was history.
