Lore of Glamour's potent Engagement Chicken has spread far and wide, and claims credit for over 70 engagements across the nation. (You can learn more about it here.) Skeptics may criticize, but for a girl that wants him to make an honest woman of her - and now - it's certainly worth a go in the kitchen just in case there's something to this fowl fable.
It's not a novel idea - mothers have long told their daughters that the way to a man's heart is through his stomach. It's just another arrow in Cupid's quiver; some girls conspicuously leave pictures of rings up on their laptops, while others learn the Single Ladies dance, hoping their man will heed the anthem. Glamour girls roast a mean chicken.
But what's a gal to do if she or her guy do not eat meat? Make Engagement Paella - that's what. Engagement Paella is another recipe in Glamour's recently released cookbook, 100 Recipes Every Woman Should Know. Glamour's paella is completely vegetarian, hoping to prove that you don't need to put a wing on it for him to put a ring on it.
Glamour does not yet have the statistics of the success rate of the Engagement Paella as compared to the Engagement Chicken. However, Glamour reps hint that it's more about the love than the lore: "It's about putting a little love into your food. It's about making a dish for 2 that is good but not too fancy - which is important." Vegetarian bridal hopefuls everywhere can breath a sigh of relief - Glamour's catch-'em strategies are not just for carnivores.
