Another summer, another seasonally-flavored treat. The newest Oreo is watermelon-flavored.

The world has been abuzz about Oreo’s latest limited edition flavor, featuring golden cookies with pink and green watermelon-flavored crème filling. It’s reminiscent of watermelon-flavored Bubble Yum or watermelon Jolly Ranchers, and while one TODAY.com staffer with a super sweet tooth “loved it,” most found the chemical aftertaste too offensive to get over, with many calling it, simply, "gross." Subbing out the milk and dipping the sandwich cookie in vodka was proposed as a solution, but we had no vodka in the office to test the theory.

One of the biggest criticisms in the food blogosphere is the lack of any actual watermelon in the ingredient list. But if you've ever tried baking with watermelon, you know it’s an almost impossible task, due to the fruit’s high water content.

So if you’re craving a tasty watermelon treat (and eating the fruit chilled on its own isn't enough for you), try some of these refreshing options.
