Vin Diesel has shared a photo of himself with his late co-star, Paul Walker, in the upcoming film "Fast & Furious 7," and it's an appropriately somber image.

Diesel, who posted the photo on Tuesday, also wrote on Facebook about the recent experience of screening the film's trailer: "I must also say, that it was emotional and bittersweet... we all went above and beyond to make Pablo proud, but man, I wish he could see what we have created and just how far we have come."

Walker died last November at age 40 when the Porsche he was riding in slammed into a light pole and tree. Filming had not yet been completed. The Hollywood Reporter reports that Walker's role was rewritten so that his character, street racer and onetime FBI agent Brian O'Conner, will retire from the racing scene. Walker's brothers, Cory and Caleb, were among the men used as stand-ins for the late actor.

The photo is the latest remembrance of Walker that Diesel has posted to his page — earlier this month, he shared a behind-the-scenes clip of the two of them shooting a scene exactly a year ago.

"Fast & Furious 7" opens April 3, 2015.
