Kristen Bell will soon be back as the title character in the "Veronica Mars" movie.

It's really happening! 'Veronica Mars' will return to the fictional town of Neptune, Calif., by way of the big screen, soon. On March 14, 2014, almost seven years after the hit show ended and one year after a Kickstarter campaign made it possible for the CW characters to come back, the all-grown-up teen drama will hit theaters.

Creator Rob Thomas first revealed the date to Entertainment Weekly, saying "Warner Bros. had this date circled for quite some time and hoped it would stay open. Luckily, no other teen detective movie decided to open in the middle of March."

But just how many theaters the film will reach remains a mystery. The original plan only accounted for a limited release — at least at first. But now Warner Bros. intends to open it to a wider, national audience.

The movie, which like the series will simply be called "Veronica Mars," was shot in less than a month over the summer, after raking in $5.7 million on Kickstarter.

As for the on-screen action, that will take place 10 years after the events in the series, at the Neptune High reunion — giving Veronica (Kristen Bell), Mac (Tina Majorino) and Wallace (Percy Daggs III) the perfect backdrop for hijinks.

And there's more good news for fans: There's already a sneak peek of what's to come.
