"Game of Thrones" fans sit up and take notice whenever Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) is onscreen. The man they call "The Imp" fascinates with everything he says and does, due to both George R. R. Martin's fabulous character development and Dinklage's nuanced delivery.

Season 4 was pretty intense for Tyrion. In Sunday's finale, he celebrated Father's Day in a most "Game of Thrones"-like fashion: by taking out his dad, Tywin, while Dad took care of business in the privy. Earlier in the season, he delivered an impassioned speech while on trial for nephew Joffrey's murder — a crime he didn't commit, much as he might have wanted to. But even as troubles swirled around him, Tyrion still made us grin with lines that tempered his serious situations with humor.

ON ADMIRATION
To Sansa: “I didn't know your brother. He seemed like a good man, but I didn't know him. Your mother, on the other hand, I admired her. She wanted to have me executed, but I admired her.”

ON HIS SIBLINGS
"A toast to the proud Lannister children ... the dwarf, the cripple and the mother of madness."

ON JUSTICE
During his trial: “I wish I was the monster you think I am. I wish I had enough poison for the pack of you.”

ON HIS DUNGEON CELL
"I’ve got every kind of filth down here except the kind I like."

ON HISTORY
"Far too much has been written about great men — and not nearly enough about morons."

ON MOCKING COUSIN ORSON
"Laughing at another person's misery was the only thing that made me feel like everyone else."

ON SISTER CERSEI
"Making honest feelings do dishonest work is one of her many gifts."
