This has got to hurt more than getting a new tattoo. TLC announced Thursday that it's canceling Kat Von D's reality show, "LA Ink."

"TLC has decided that the current season of 'LA Ink' will be its last," TLC said in a statement to TODAY.com. "The network is proud of what the series has accomplished in its four seasons, following Kat Von D's journey as an artist from Miami to Los Angeles. The series finale will air Sept. 15 at 10 p.m."

But the star of the show doesn't quite agree with the network's statement. "I love how me deciding to not continue doing LA Ink, turns into being 'cancelled.' Thanks @TLC. Regardless of everything I remain grateful," Von D tweeted.

She then told PEOPLE, "In an effort to capitalize on my recent breakup, the network has decided to focus their energy on re-editing events that didn't happen while filming. I have no regrets and am very proud of the original footage. In my opinion, any attempt to compromise the honesty of that would be an insult to my fans and viewers."

"LA Ink" is the second show to get the axe from TLC this week. On Monday, the network announced that it was not renewing "Kate Plus 8," and that the final episode would air Sept. 12.

Though TV will be down one show featuring tattoos, Spike is filling the gap with a new show called "InkMaster," featuring tatted rocker Dave Navarro as the host, according to The Wrap. The eight-episode series, which debuts in January, will have the rocker judging tattoo artists' creations.
