He doesn't even have a full album out yet, but Austin Mahone is such a huge pop star that he packed the TODAY plaza with swarms of "Mahomies" on Memorial Day.

The line to watch Mahone stretched for blocks, with some young fans waiting since Sunday morning to get into the concert.

"It's been a lot of work, but I mean my fans are the reason I'm here, so I've got to give it up to them," said the 18-year-old, who got his start on YouTube. He went on to play several tunes including "MMM Yeah" and "What About Love?"

Truth is, those fans can get a little crazy. As Mahone noted in the Orange Room, he once had a girl jump into his car as he was leaving a show. "I looked over, and I was like, 'I've never seen you before!'" he chuckled.

Mahone has already worked with Pitbull for "MMM Yeah," and says he'd like to work with Drake next. "It's exciting!" Mahone said of his trajectory and the fan reaction. "I love it. I love it."

"The Secret," Mahone's debut release, will be available on May 27.
