Sorry, “Sex and the City” fans. There’s no prequel to the film -- based on the popular HBO series -- in the works, said Michael Patrick King, who was the executive producer for show and also produced the films. “I’m not working on any ‘Sex and the City’ prequel at all,” he said at the Television Critics Association on Wednesday in Los Angeles, where he was presenting his new comedy, “2 Broke Girls.” It was rumored earlier that a film would follow pals, Carrie, Charlotte, Samantha and Miranda through their teenage years and into their 20s.
• During the “CSI” panel on Wednesday, one journalist asked new cast member Ted Danson whether he felt he had been compensated properly for his work on the hit show “Cheers,” and whether he had thought of suing, as some “Happy Days” cast members had done. The actor’s response? “I was overly fairly compensated. It created huge sums of guilt. I try to save oceans out of ‘Cheers’ guilt money.”
