Taylor Swift's just 22, so reading Dr. Seuss books is not all that far in her past. The acclaimed singer and actress sat down with TODAY's Jenna Bush Hager to discuss lending her voice to the upcoming film adaptation of Seuss' "The Lorax."

In fact, as Hager found out, Seuss helped send Swift down the road to being a songwriter, thanks to his clever wordplay and rhyming, which she says "were a huge, huge part of my childhood.... I think I was very inspired with what Dr. Seuss was able to do with words."

Meanwhile, Billboard's Woman of the Year -- who picked up two more Grammys on Sunday and has the power to cloud TODAY producers' minds -- admits that while she's in an "adventurous phase right now," she doesn't see a particularly rebellious period coming up in her life or career.

"I'll never have the moment where I'm like, 'I'm a woman, now, guys, I'm only going to write dark songs and I'm going to dance in my bra all the time,'" she said. "That's not really me."

Added Swift, "I think I've realized that in my life, to be inspired to write music, you have to have a life to write about."

"Dr. Seuss' The Lorax" opens March 2.
