“Late Night” host Jimmy Fallon stopped by "The Colbert Report” Thursday night to spend a little time with his best friend for six months, Stephen Colbert, only to learn that their friendship had already expired.

After Fallon and his temp-pal reminisced about riding a tandem bike, riding a Ferris wheel and riding tandem bike on a Ferris wheel, the pair did the math on their BFFSM arrangement and realized they were meant to move on almost two weeks ago.

“It’s over Jimmy,” Colbert deadpanned. “I just realized I haven’t liked you for 12 days.”

That set the stage for the next step in Fallon and Colbert’s relationship. The two are now “eternal enemies” — for six months.

The new enemies will have a chance to face off during Sunday night’s 63rd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards, as they go head-to-head for the top honor in the category of Outstanding Variety, Music or Comedy Series.

Do you think either host will walk away with the win Sunday night? Share your thoughts on that and their new eternal enemies status on our Facebook page.
