KX News in Bismarck, N.D., saw an on-air shakeup Saturday night when a fresh face joined the KXMB news desk. "Anchorman" star Will Ferrell brought his polyester-clad character, Ron Burgundy, along for a real anchor role.

Ferrell-as-Burgundy introduced himself to viewers alongside news team regular Amber Schatz at the top of the show.

"Amber, you look lovely tonight," he noted. "Are you married? … Well, I am, so don't get any ideas."

Between the quips, the news went on as usual, with the star recounting local events and staying in character for the full half-hour. After it was all over, he even stuck around for a post-show interview to give his take on how it all went.

"I think it was great for the news team to really learn from a veteran newscaster," he deadpanned. "Amber, my co-anchor, she kept touching me underneath the table — which I found very unprofessional and delightful at the same time."

See more from Ferrell when he brings Burgundy back to the big screen in "Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues" on Dec. 18.
