Fans who can’t get enough of “Downton Abbey" can soon smell and get dolled up like their favorite show characters.
A line of soaps, makeup and other beauty products related to the British period drama will go on sale in Oct. as part of a 10-piece collection sold by British retailer Marks and Spencer. The items, which were just revealed this week, will be available online and in M&S stores.
The collection includes a scented candle, lip gloss, nail polish, crème bath (similar to bubble bath) and a cosmetics bag. Each item comes packaged with the iconic image of the estate, the "Downton" crest and a character quote from past episodes, like Tom Branson’s “I’d expect no less,” (season 2, episode 8) and Violet Dowager’s “No one wants to kiss a girl in black,” (series 1, episode 1).
The Granthams, Crawleys and their servants have fascinated the world since “Downton Abbey" debuted in 2010. The show was credited for a massive uptick in demand for vintage clothing such as arm-length gloves, fur capes, and cravats.
Earlier this year, the show’s executive producer revealed plans to launch a line of "Downton Abbey" apparel, furniture and products for the home.
M&S is selling the show-related products as part of a two-year contract with NBC Universal, which owns Carnival Films, the production company for “Downton Abbey.”
