Melissa Etheridge shared her newlywed joy with followers on Twitter Saturday.
Etheridge, 53, tied the knot with her girlfriend of four years, producer Linda Wallem, 53, in an outdoor ceremony at the San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito, Calif.
Wallem, the creator of Showtime’s “Nurse Jackie,” walked down the aisle in a sleeveless, sparkly white gown while Etheridge rocked a gray suit. According to People, Etheridge brought the romance, singing a new song she wrote for Wallem.
The Grammy Award winning singer announced the engagement last June, right after the Supreme Court struck down the Defense of Marriage Act, saying she looked forward to "getting fully, completely and legally married.”
Etheridge co-parents twins Johnnie and Miller, 7, with her ex Tammy Lynn Michaels, and has two kids, Bailey 17, and Beckett, 15, from a previous relationship.
