“America’s Got Talent” resident grump Piers Morgan put one contestant in a tough spot during the show’s Seattle auditions when he asked her to leave her band behind in order to move ahead.

After PopLyfe performed Travie McCoy’s “Billionaire,” Morgan told the group’s teen singer that the decision came down to “whether it’s you or you and the band,” making it clear he wasn’t interested in the ensemble.

Willing to risk her chance, the vocalist shot back, “I don’t go without my brothers.”

Bold, yes, but Morgan remained unmoved.

“Judging you as a group, I’m going to say no," he replied.

Thanks to votes from the other two members of the “Got Talent” panel, Sharon Osbourne and Howie Mandel, Morgan’s vote wasn’t a deciding factor. The whole band made it through to the next round.

What did you think of Morgan's move? Was he wrong to ask the singer to turn her back on the band? Tell us on our Facebook page.
