Despite popular opinion, Charlie Sheen’s personal struggles aren’t to blame for the current “Two and a Half Men” production delay. At least that’s what the embattled actor had to say during a blunt and erratic interview on “The Dan Patrick Show.”

According to Sheen, he’s ready and willing to go back to work, but a “forced hiatus” stands in his way.

“I went back to work,” the sitcom star announced. “I was banging on the stage door — ‘Hello? Where is everybody?’ I don’t know what happened. I guess they’re closed. … They said you get ready and we’ll get ready. I got ready and went back, and nobody’s there. I don’t know what to tell you. Nobody’s there. … I’m here and I’m ready. They’re not. Bring it.”

Sheen also explained that it’s in the best interest of the show to get him back to work as soon as possible. Although he’s “100% clean” right now, he won’t promise to always stay that way.

“I’m a man of my word. I have a contract. They said, ‘Get your act together,’ and I did,” Sheen told the radio host. “I just think, maybe it’s a timing thing. They didn’t think it was going to happen this fast. But check it — I heal really quickly, but I also unravel pretty quickly. So get me right now guys; get me right now.”

As for that “Two and a Half Men” contract Sheen’s so eager to honor, there is one part of it he seems happy to ignore — the morals clause.

“Yeah, blah-blah-nitpick-nitpick,” Sheen responded when asked about the clause. “I haven’t read it, but I don’t think it covers ‘let us totally dominate and interfere with your personal life.’”
