Lupita Nyong'o was named People magazine's Most Beautiful person for 2014 on Wednesday, but if you followed the stunning and stylish actress through awards season or on Instagram over the past several months, the announcement was a foregone conclusion.

We shined the "see for your selfie" spotlight on the "12 Years a Slave" star just before the Academy Awards on March 2. That night, she became an Oscar winner and she managed to squeeze into a record-setting Ellen DeGeneres selfie that crippled Twitter. And, just like she did at the Golden Globes, she impressed TODAY voters the most with her red carpet style.

It's worth checking in again on the reigning It Girl to see how she's putting that Most Beautiful face out there on social media.

Kicked back in her pale blue Prada dress, the 31-year-old Nyong'o held the Academy Award for best supporting actress.

Photographer Mark Seliger captured the actress and her gold man for Vanity Fair at the mag's Oscar party.

To celebrate International Women's Day, Nyong'o compiled "some of the the amazing women in my life who made #AwardSeason so meaningful and memorable."

Nyong'o thanked her admirers for making her a "bed of roses" in another photo-grouping.

Taking time to relax in a monogrammed robe during what she called a "NY Staycation."

People magazine called her Most Beautiful, and others certainly recognized that distinction along the way.

More glitz and glam before the GLAAD Awards and the MTV Movie Awards.

"You lose you snooze," she Instgrammed after the MTV Awards.

As she passed 1 million followers on the photo-sharing site, Nyong'o shared a video message of thanks. "My success is definitely bound in your support," she said as she blew a kiss.
