"American Idol" has seen a number of changes over its 12 seasons, from format shifts to judges being replaced, but there's always been one rock of consistency in the singing competition reality show: Ryan Seacrest. And as the series returns for its 13th season, Seacrest promises he isn't going anywhere.
"Not a chance," he said on TODAY Tuesday, noting he's "never" even considered quitting. "I'm so used to getting up each year and doing that show. And I love the process of going out and meeting somebody ... and if they've got the talent, seeing them become a star."
Meanwhile, before "Idol" kicks off again, Seacrest has been picking up a new skill that has nothing to do with singing: He's learning how to figure skate under the tutelage of skater Yuna Kim, and recently visited her in Seoul ahead of the Sochi Games to pick up a few pointers.
"It didn't go so well," he admitted to TODAY's Matt Lauer and Savannah Guthrie. "It went well with her, but not the skating part. ... I assume you both have tried to figure skate, but it was the balance thing and the stopping thing that was an issue for me."
That's Seacrest all over: No stopping, whether it's skating or "Idol."
