AMC's new hit "The Walking Dead" has been pulling in fantastic ratings since it debuted on Halloween and has already been renewed for a second season. But word on the street is that writer/executive producer/director Frank Darabont has fired the writers for season No. 2, which is set for 13 episodes.
Deadline.com is hearing that Darabont is thinking about assigning scripts to freelancers instead. Of the current season's episodes, he penned two of the six episodes, and co-wrote/rewrote the remaining four. Robert Kirkman, the executive producer and creator of the comic series on which the show is based, also penned an episode.
Unfortunately for this season's writers, AMC has confirmed in a statement "that there will be changes to the writing staff" of the show.
What do you think? Will the show suffer without its current staff of scribes, or will Darabont and Kirkman be able to pull off second successful season with just the two of them and a few freelancers?
