Things for "Teen Mom" star Amber Portwood seem to keep getting worse and worse. Just last week, she was charged with two felonies and a misdemeanor for repeatedly punching and kicking ex-fiance Gary Shirley on an episode of MTV's show. And now, her home state of Indiana has made her little girl, Leah, a ward of the state, reports Radar Online.

Portwood and Shirley appeared at an emergency child placement hearing in Anderson, Ind., on Tuesday, the website reported. "Leah is a ward of the state," a source told Radar. Leah is currently staying with Shirley, even though the Department of Child Services is evaluating her living situation. DCS will determine if Shirley's home is suitable as the little girl's permanent home.

A source also told Radar that DCS supervised a visit between Portwood and Leah at Shirley's house after the hearing.
