"Law & Order: SVU" may have lost resident tough guy (but ruggedly handsome) Chris Meloni for the upcoming season, but take heart, fans! According to Nellie Andreeva of Deadline.com, four younger, almost as tough but just as good-looking actors are now vying to replace him on the long-running procedural.

Andreeva reports that sources have confirmed "L&O" creator Dick Wolf and NBC are seriously considering Danny Pino of "Cold Case," David Conrad of "Ghost Whisperer," Michael Raymond-James of "Terriers" and "True Blood" and Kevin Alejandro, also of "True Blood" and a recent episode of "SVU."

According to Deadline, the actors will be in New York Tuesday to see how well they pair up with star Mariska Hargitay, who will be dialing back on her role as Det. Olivia Benson.

As a long-time fan of this particular installment of "L&O" and a total Truebie, my vote is most definitely for Alejandro, who doesn't get nearly enough screen time as Jesus on "True Blood." (Even if that leaves Bon Temps' Lafayette with a broken heart. Sorry, hook-ah, but I'd love me some more Alejandro beyond the three months "TB" offers up.) Besides, did you see Alejandro's turn on the "SVU" episode "Branded," in which he played the rapist-with-a-good-heart/victim? The man was great.

I wouldn't object to Raymond-James either, who also guest starred as killer Eddie Skinner on the season 12 finale of "SVU." Creepy, but oh so good.

Of the four, who would you most like to see replace Meloni? Are any of them good enough to keep you tuned in? Share your thoughts on our Facebook page!
